Weekend Recap

My weekend recap will really start on Thursday afternoon.

My mom's sister's family came to visit from Connecticut and we ate a delicious and healthy dinner consisting of pizza and brownies.  Yum!  Yum!

From left to right, bottom row to top: Caroline, me, Grandma, mom, Kennedy, Taylor, dad, Claire, brother Scott, cousin Greg, his girlfriend Meghan, Uncle Rich, cousin Michelle, Aunt Yvonne

My grandma is 97 years old! I hope I can look that good at her age!  I hope I'm alive at her age. ;)

Friday was Nanny's day.  The girls played in the pool.

Saturday Taylor worked.  Claire helped me make Blueberry Protein Waffles.  We made them with our farm animal waffle maker.  Fun Stuff.

The girls and I played around the house.  While the babes took their morning nap, Claire and I got in our pool.  We worked on holding our breath under water.  Not such an easy task with Miss Cautious.

That afternoon, we made Lemon Brownies.  They were amazing!  Receipe found here

Sunday, Claire an errands with me while Taylor painted and the babies napped.  Then, our friends came over with their kiddos and played in the pool.

Always a good time with Julie and Jared, Holly and Jeff, and the kiddos!!

21 Day Fix

Today I wanted to share an exercise program that I've been doing for the last three months.

Shortly after the twins were born and the holidays were over, I really wanted to start exercising.  Home girl is on a major budget so I knew joining a gym was out of the question.  I started using some at- home DVD exercise videos I already had.  They just weren't cuttin' it!  They were boring and I couldn't make myself do them.

I'm always a skeptic about at- home DVD exercise workouts and never expected to look like Barbie after doing them.

What sold me on the 21 Day Fix was that it includes 7 different workouts with the system, in addition to a 10 minute ab exercise.  I'm not one that wants to do the same, boring DVD every.single.day.  I also, liked this system because it was only 30 minutes.  With 3 little ones,  I don't have time for anything longer!

The 7 workouts include, dirty 30 workout, total body cardio, upper body fix, lower body fix, pilates fix, cardio fix, and yoga fix.  When I'm doing the workouts, I honestly do not remember what's coming next.  I love that.  The workouts are not boring and 30 minutes goes by before I know it!

The system also includes, food containers and a meal plan guide.  I kept tally of my meals the first month but, since I've just been keeping track in my trusty 'ole brain. ;)  I've always ate pretty healthy so I wasn't as concerned with this aspect of the system.

I start my day with exercise at 4:45 in the morning and do it 5 days a week.  I (try to) do the 10 minute ab DVD on the weekends.

I'm still not Barbie, nor do I ever expect to be.  I enjoy exercising.  It is a great stress reliever for me and I feel so much better afterwards.

By following the program...I say following loosely...I have dropped about 3 pants sizes.  Although, I have only lost about 12 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight. I can definitely tell that I have gained a lot more muscle though.

I don't think I'm on a diet at all but, rather living a healthy lifestyle.  That is my main goal.  I want to be healthy for my husbando and my bundles.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Plates in the Kitchen

So, I told you guys last Friday about my amazing husband and our new kitchen wall color.  Hope to share the kitchen reveal with you very, very soon!
I have this huge, blank wall above our kitchen table with nothing on it!
I need something on this wall.
It was years ago now....funny how pregnancies and kiddos can do that to you...when I mentioned to my mother-in-law that I wanted to do a plate wall above my kitchen table.  Well, she got on it!  Obviously, quicker than I did because the wall is still blank.  She gave me an old platter from her mother, some plates from her Aunt Ruby, and some from my husband's father's mother.  I absolutely love them and have them sitting nicely in a china cabinet. :)  So my mission is to get these babies hung up!
Here is some of my inspiration:

I can't wait to see what we come up with and share it with you guys!

Shorty Short Shorts

I have a crazy obsession with shorts lately!
Everywhere I look there are tons of cute ones!
I am lovin' with all my heart these J Crew embroided gauze shorts.  Umm..adorable!  And, they even have a nice and comfy elastic waistband.  Come on now, can it get better?!
J Crew also has these chambray sailboat shorts are so cute!

I love these fun, little jean shorts from Loft.  I love the detail!  They just look so fun!  Too bad Pier Park Loft didn't have these.  I would have snatched them up.

I ended up buying these

 And these

They look black in the picture but, they are actually navy and have some cute pockets.

I definitely needed some basic shorts to chase around my girls this summer!   Although the Loft manager brought these out to show me and I love them!  I would totally wear these on a date night with a cute metallic(y) grey top and black sandals.  These shorts and lined and fabulous.  I told him I would have to buy them on my next shopping trip. ;)

Right now Loft has all their shorts 50% off.  No code needed.  You can't beat that.

Next trip, I'm getting some "fun" shorts!! :)

Goodbye Yellow Kitchen Walls

Hello Salt Glaze by Behr.  We aren't completely done with painting, as you can see, in the picture below.  But, I am loving how calming this color is.

Lord knows I made out like a bandit when I married Taylor.  There aren't many men that would repaint a kitchen for the 3rd time in 5 years.  As I said before, I love this color though and (think) I'll stick with it for a while.

Tall Girl's Romper/ Jumpsuit

At 5'11, you don't have many options when it comes to rompers and jumpsuits.  It's a terrible shame.
#tallgirlproblems

I would love to wear any of these

I love rompers and jumpsuits for many reasons.

You only have to pick out and iron one thing
You can dress them up or dress them down
You can wear them with flats or heels

Unfortunately unless I want to walk hunched over in one, my long torso and long legs have not allowed me to wear one :(

Until now....

Alloy sells Rompers and Jumpsuits in extended inseams.  We're talking 37" inseams.  I could even wear heels. Double WooHoo!

I want every single one of them. Now. So I can wear one tomorrow.

Father's Day Fun

We had a great Father's Day!  I woke up early with the little ones and made a quiche creation.  I say creation because I didn't use a recipe, but rather just used things we had.  It ended up being 3 whole eggs, 3 egg whites, spinich, diced chicken, and I spread cheese on top.  I baked it at 400 for 30 minutes.

It was delish!!!  Taylor and Claire loved it.  Success.

After church we went to Bonefish with my parents.  Bonefish is always good!  I love that place!  Everyone needed a nap afterwards.

After the girls woke up, we headed for the back yard to swim in the inflatable pool.  Keep in mind, we live in Southport and these pools are completely acceptable in our neck of the woods. ;)

Claire is a fish!  That girl LOVES to swim!

My happy, happy Kennedy.

Caroline wanted to move, per usual.  The girl's metabolism is on fire.  Her face is saying, "Let me go, Daddy!"

Claire was waaaayyy to busy swimming to smile for me.

I forsee lots of fun adventures in our, little pool. :)

Caroline is crawling!

And, she's pretty dang good at it!

I think, Caroline can do a better plank than me.
Kennedy is just happy as a clam to sit next to Momma and watch her sister. :)

Obsessed with Camo

I have been lovin' some camo lately.  I love how you can dress it up, dress it down, and wear it year round.

Here is some outfit inspiration:

You can get this look if you're on a budget or willing to spend a few more.

Walmart currently has some on clearance for $11.  Now, you can't beat that.

Nordstrom also has some super cute ones!

I might have to splurge myself! :)
