Today I wanted to share an exercise program that I've been doing for the last three months.
Shortly
after the twins were born and the holidays were over, I really wanted
to start exercising. Home girl is on a major budget so I knew joining a
gym was out of the question. I started using some at- home DVD exercise
videos I already had. They just weren't cuttin' it! They were boring and I couldn't make myself do them.
I'm always a skeptic about at- home DVD exercise workouts and never expected to look like Barbie after doing them.
What sold me on the 21 Day Fix was that it includes 7 different workouts with the system, in addition to a 10 minute ab exercise. I'm not one that wants to do the same, boring DVD every.single.day. I also, liked this system because it was only 30 minutes. With 3 little ones, I don't have time for anything longer!
The 7 workouts include, dirty 30 workout, total body cardio, upper body fix, lower body fix, pilates fix, cardio fix, and yoga fix. When I'm doing the workouts, I honestly do not remember what's coming next. I love that. The workouts are not boring and 30 minutes goes by before I know it!
The system also includes, food containers and a meal plan guide. I kept tally of my meals the first month but, since I've just been keeping track in my trusty 'ole brain. ;) I've always ate pretty healthy so I wasn't as concerned with this aspect of the system.
I start my day with exercise at 4:45 in the morning and do it 5 days a week. I (try to) do the 10 minute ab DVD on the weekends.
I'm still not Barbie, nor do I ever expect to be. I enjoy exercising. It is a great stress reliever for me and I feel so much better afterwards.
By following the program...I say following loosely...I have dropped about 3 pants sizes. Although, I have only lost about 12 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight. I can definitely tell that I have gained a lot more muscle though.
I don't think I'm on a diet at all but, rather living a healthy lifestyle. That is my main goal. I want to be healthy for my husbando and my bundles.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
