Take a Look

I've been wanting a full length mirror in my bedroom for quite a while.
I'm thinking maybe I'll DIY one.

Here's some inspriation of mine.

I love this option because it would go so well with our hotel(ish)- black and white- looking bedroom.

I think, the ultimate look I'm going for is this one.  I love the silver.

I am awesome...and you are too.

I wish I could save this video and have my girls watch it every.single.morning.

As women, we are so hard on ourselves.
Why?
For absolutley no good reason at all.

We are beautiful, smart, funny, and kind.
We make people.  How awesome is that?  We couldn't get any cooler, in my opionion.

And it's all because of our awesome God.

Weekend Recap

I can't believe another weekend has passed.  It was a great one!  Saturday morning the little girls had so much fun playing in Claire's tunnel.  I bought this tunnel for Claire when she was probably 1 years old for super cheap.  We've all had a lot of fun with this thing!

We've loved eating kale chips this summer!  They are good and so easy!  I drizzle with some olive oil, sprinkle with salt and pepper, and bake at 375 for about 20 minutes.

I used some leftover kale chips in an omelet I made Sunday morning for Claire and I.

My little Priss Pot carried her purse around all.day.long on Sunday.  My sweet thing has her "curling iron, lipstick, jewelry, and cell phone" in it.  You know, all the necessities.  :)

We got together with my family on Sunday because my brother leaves
this Friday to move to D.C.

Silly Uncle Scott and an even sillier Daddy with Claire

I came out from putting Kennedy down last night and see this!  What a good Daddy.

Lemon Water

Every morning, before I eat or drink anything, I indulge warm lemon water.  My sweet husband sits it on my vanity while I'm in the shower.

I drink mine warm.  I cut a lemon up into 4 slices and refrigerate them in a tupperware.  Then, each morning Taylor takes one out and squeezes it into a coffee mug.  We just use the Keurig to get the warm water.

Here are some benefits to drinking lemon water

Give it a try this weekend!  I literally haven't missed a day since I started almost a year ago!  I've even gotten my mother-in-law hooked! :)

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Monday

Monday I had been at work for about an hour when the girl's daycare called and said a tree fell on the powerline and knocked their power out.  So, I got to spend the day at home with my little sweets.  It was wonderful!

It rained most of the day so we didn't get outside until the later part of the afternoon.  But, we made it out and were ready to greet Daddy when he drove up!  I love getting to do that.  What better way to come home and see 3 little angels and their Momma smiling at you.  :)

We got Kennedy and Caroline this Radio Flyer for Christmas but, Monday was the first time we actually used it.  Crazy me didn't realize it had a seatbelt so I was afraid the girls would hurt themselves in it.  I'm so glad I saw a neighbor down the street using it with her son last week.  She's the one who told me about the seatbelt.  Sometimes, I'm crazy! ;)

My sweet Claire loves riding her princess bike.

Cilantro Jalapeno Hummus

This stuff was so good, even Taylor liked it!
Coming from the guy who has always refused to eat hummus.

Recipe:
2 cans drained Garbanzo Beans
1 1/2 cups fresh Cilantro
1/2 cup Jalepeno Juice
4 cloves Garlic
2 tsp Olive Oil
Onion Powder, Pepper, and Salt to Taste

Blend all ingredients until smooth.

Tastes good on a wrap, with pita chips, or tortilla chips.

My little helper while I was trying to take a picture of the finished product. :)

Hope you'll give it a try, even if you haven't been a hummus fan in the past!!

Weekend Recap

What a wet mess of a weekend!

We woke up Saturday morning and Taylor made blueberry pancakes.
They were SO good...thin and crispy and made with no eggs.

We always try to make enough to last for breakfast for Claire for the week.

My little babes loved them as much as Claire.

We spent the morning doing a little cooking....

And playing with Claire's magnetic letters

After naps, we went out to the beach house.  I (helped) sew my first dress.
I'm determned to learn how!  I definately need some practice though!
I'm trying to get my act together so I can make the girls a cute Halloween dress.

Sunday was more rain...looks like more this week too.  Rain, rain go away!  Come again another day!  Happy Monday friends!

Blueberry Yumminess

The blueberries right now are amazing!

I've been going to Sam's Club every week and buying the big carton and we still end up eating them up before the week is over.

We just started giving Kennedy and Caroline some blueberries for dinner.  They go crazy when they see me pull the container out of the refrigerator.  It is so cute!!

Here are some yummy blueberry receipes.  Let me know if you try any of them!

I need to make these for the kiddos for an easy snack in the afternoon before dinner.  Everyone, including myself, needs a snack before dinner.  :)

I've been making a similar shake in the morning.  Mine usually consists of 1/2 banana, 1 scoop protein powder, handful of blueberries, some wheat germ, and lots of ice.  I will definately be trying the addition of honey!  Sounds so good!

Ummm....can you say delicious?!  I need to make this STAT.

You could use oat flour, skim milk, egg whites, and splenda to reduce the caloric intake.  I need to experiment....

This salad looks delish!

Go out and make it a happy Thursday yall!! :)

Livin' in up

Claire has been livin' it up.
She spent last night with her Lollie and Pop at their beach house.
Yesterday she went to swim lessons with her Lollie and then spent the afternoon at the beach.

One of her favorite things is to eat breakfast in bed with Lollie. So, what princess wants, princess gets. :)

I'm so thankful to have great in-laws and for the special time Claire gets to spend with them.

Swims like a fish

Claire is loving swim lessons this week.

She told me yesterday that she dove down to the bottom of the pool.

Sounds like Miss Cautious was a little daring. ;)

Weekend Recap

After a full week of VBS, I was ready for a low key weekend.

VBS was awesome!  Claire loved it!
There is nothing better than seeing your little one excited about God's love.

Saturday all 3 little ones slept till 7 am!!!
Taylor and I felt brand spankin' new.  :)

We spent the majority of our Saturday playing Candyland and kissing kiddos.
Saturday night we went to a friend's house for dinner.  We had so much fun I forgot to snap a pic.

My little K just learned how to sit up from laying down.  She had a hard time napping Saturday.  When I went in to check on her, this is how she looked.  I don't know if it took too much energy to lay back down or if she couldn't figure out how to just get back down.  Either way, I was happy to help.

My girl's from smallest to largest...or youngest to oldest.

We started practicing with a sippy cup this weekend.
The sippy cup's with straws were much easier for them!
Caroline seemed to have gotten the hang of it.  :)

This girl is everywhere!!!  She loves playing in Claire's kitchen.

I leave you with a video of Claire on Sunday singing at church.  Different age groups got up to sing the songs they learned in VBS.  Those kiddos are precious.

Happy Monday you guys!!

Abrams Daughters: A 5 Book Series

I just got done reading the best series.

It's an Amish book series by Beverly Lewis.

You can find it here.

I could not put these books down!!  They are all so good!

My husband didn't realize it was a series so he kept saying, "Your still reading that book?!".  Ahh, he was ready to have his TV- watching-partner back.  :)

If you haven't read any Amish fiction, try this series and let me know how you like it!

Happy Friday yall!!
Hope you have a great weekend!

Kennedy and Caroline's 9 month Checkup

Where has the time gone??
Holy Moly.
I can't believe my little girls are 9 months old.

Good new is their pediatrician says they are right on track. :)

Kennedy is 28.25 inches long and 21.4 pounds.
She is almost always a happy girl!
Her whole face lights up when she smiles.  She is babbling all the time and is just starting to do the "army man" crawl.
She is an excellent little sleeper.  She goes to bed about 7:30 pm (always cuddling her pink rabbit) and is up at 7:00 am with a pretty smile.
She just recently got her two bottom teeth.
I have to refrain from just squeezing her all the time and I can hardly keep from kissing those sweet cheeks.  I love this sweet girl with all my heart.

Caroline is 26.5 inches long and 15.10 pounds.
This girl is on the move all.the.time.
She was crawling at about 7 1/2 months and has been moving ever since.
She is walking with furniture non-stop and loves to stand up in her bed and stare into Kennedy's bed.  Changing her diaper is no easy task because she flips and flops herself every which way.
This little one is going to give her Mommy and Daddy a run.
She is indepenedent like her big sister and isn't afraid to let you know when she doesn't like something.
Her two little bottom teeth are just the cutest thing ever.
Almost as cute as when she wrinkles her little nose and smiles.
Caroline is my little trooper and my heart.
